Competition - Hongqiao Train Station

The Hongqiao railway station in Shanghai, together with its context and program, was a very exciting and inspiring project because it makes up part of a multimodal transportation hub. We felt that it should symbolize the modern values of a big international city and set new standards for architectural design, including its esthetic, technical, and environmental aspects.

Our project took a pragmatic and innovative approach to integrating the various modes of transportation into a unified structure. The design was based on the concept of global connectivity, and projected a strong, contemporary image in keeping with our vision of a world-class passenger transportation hub.
