Sopramousses Daycare

With the development of this 100-place daycare center, Soprema wanted to offer its employees and the community a warm, dynamic and welcoming daycare environment. The project was carried out in partnership with the Pomme Aventure daycare center, which already has two facilities in the Drummondville area.

The new Sopramousses facility is housed in a completely refurbished building, to which an extension of around 150 m2 has been added. The day-care center comprises three rooms for infants and six rooms for children aged 18 months and over. A complete, commercial-quality kitchen enables meals to be prepared on site. The Sopramousses toddlers benefit from a large, bright motor room and even an indoor water play area, a feature that sets this new facility apart! A vast outdoor courtyard has also been laid out.

The most important challenge of this project was to design a layout solution that would accommodate all the program's spaces while minimizing expansion in order to retain a vast outdoor playground. What's more, as the original building had been designed to house a company's offices, the change of use and extension of the building required major modifications to comply with current regulations.
