Description
Built in the 1970s, the Louis-Philippe-Pigeon building had not undergone any major renovations since its construction. ABCP was commissioned to redesign the interior layout, involving some 1,000 workstations on 9 floors (±24,900m2). The fit-out was designed to meet the aspirations of the building's occupant, the Ministry of Justice, taking into account the permanent occupation of the premises. The project was sequenced in several phases so that the contractor could work on two levels at once without impacting the occupants. Particular attention was paid to the acoustics of the spaces to meet confidentiality requirements. The interiors have been awarded LEED CI Gold certification.
All floors feature closed and open-plan offices, a break room with kitchenette, and multiple meeting rooms of different sizes. On the first floor, the reception area and access gates were refurbished to meet security standards. Multi-purpose rooms and showers complete the new spaces. The work also included upgrading the exit staircases and the rooftop mechanical room.
