Description
The SAGP consortium (SNC Lavalin; ABCP Architecture; Gagnon Letellier Cyr Ricard et Mathieu, Architectes; and Populous) was awarded the huge construction contract for Quebec City’s multipurpose arena in 2012. The new building, whose design evokes winter in Quebec, was finished in July 2015 and the official opening took place on September 8. The building meets National Hockey League (NHL) standards and may eventually be home to a Quebec City NHL team.
The Videotron Center is a multipurpose arena with many different possible seating configurations and capacities to allow for a broad array of sports events and shows. Everything is designed to provide spectators with an unforgettable experience. The new arena can seat up to 20,396 people for shows and 18,259 spectators for hockey games.
The public was solidly behind this project and proud to see the creation of this unique facility in the Quebec City area.
