Description
The elementary school, which got a LEED Or certification, has 21 classes including 3 kindergarten groups. It also houses a daycare, a double divisible gymnasium, a library and a multipurpose room. The new institutional building has a 4,200 m2 site built on two levels on a plot of 13,230 m2. There is a parking lot of 33 spaces with a safe bus landing and a large courtyard for students.
The Myriade Elementary School presents sober and durable materials while including a touch of color. Like a bar code, it reveals an identity, a signature. The sequence of elevations gives a rhythm and a ludic aspect to the whole. It represents the evolution and progression of students through time by its composition. Indeed, the blue gradually turns into green, yellow and red. The school is conducive to learning in a lively, stimulating and enlightened environment.
Located along Etna street, the school is gradually discovered. The volume of the classes, in a linear shape, unfolds and follows the orientation of the street curve. The architecture of the ensemble is presented in superimposed and organized plans. The distinctive main volumes are separated by a large, transparent and bright entrance hall.
