Description
The project involves building a sports complex that will house an NHL-compliant ice rink meeting Hockey Canada's technical specifications. The first floor will house all hockey-related functions: reception, ticket office, boutique, infirmary, players' and referees' dressing rooms, storage and technical rooms. This level is completed by a welcoming lobby with a view of the rink and outdoor tennis courts.
Upstairs, the public will have access to bleachers accommodating over 500 people seated and another 300 standing. A secondary hall, a multi-purpose room, a 200-metre running track, changing rooms and offices for organizations will also be part of the community sector. Open to the outdoors, the abundantly fenestrated community spaces will be bathed in natural light and offer breathtaking views of Gaspé Bay.
The sports complex has an elongated silhouette that blends harmoniously into the steep Gaspé landscape. Situated between the C.-E.-Pouliot school and the Cégep de la Gaspésie at the top of Route 132, this new infrastructure will act as a landmark and establish itself as a true sports hub.
