Description

In 2010, the Quebec Jockey Club hired ABCP to conduct a study on the possibility of building a racecourse in Mirabel. The municipality is less than 50 km from downtown Montreal and easily reached via highways 15 and 50 or Route 117. A huge plot of land was available, harboring several abandoned facilities of the same nature.

The recent closure of racecourses in large urban centers (Montreal and Quebec City) raises questions about the location and mode of operation of these recreational facilities. The client wished to build the racecourse in a more rural setting, focusing on the pastoral nature of the site, but with a modern site layout and contemporary buildings.
