Description
As part of the Montréal Transit Corporation's call for projects for the development of the MR-63 métro cars (1963 rolling stock), Le BOCAL, ABCP architecture's creation laboratory, presents Station Grand-Métis, a tribute to this emblematic product of Quebec industrial design.
From the half-light of the Montreal tunnels from which it came and whose traces it still bears, the leading car emerges in full light in the heart of a plant universe that it upsets, a visual and sound improbable, completely out of sync with the Montreal metro universe. Grand-Métis becomes the last stop of the green line of the Montreal metro, the deserved retirement of an MR-63, the station where the thousand and one underground dreams end and take off. Becoming a garden lodge and bearer of a collective memory, it evokes the influence of the metropolis beyond its limits but also, conversely, the marked interest of Montrealers for the Reford Gardens.
