Description
The project consisted of a complete refurbishment of the 23 m-long, 6-corridor pool, the mezzanine and certain areas such as the lifeguard room, the warehouse and the training room. The pool's concrete basin was waterproofed and finished with ceramic tiles. Cracks in the concrete walls were corrected to prevent future water leaks. At the same time, the decking and slopes around the pool were reconfigured to ensure good water flow and avoid water accumulation. And finally, as the outdated filtration equipment was causing poor water quality, the chlorination, chemical water treatment and water analysis systems were replaced.
In addition, the general appearance of the spaces, which were over fifty years old, was reviewed. Walls and ceilings were refurbished. The outdated lighting system was completely redesigned, combining direct and indirect lighting fixtures to provide perfect, glare-free illumination. The mechanical ventilation systems were reconfigured to improve air quality and limit the specific health risks associated with exposure to trichloramines in the pool area.
